Free DTC rides for women on Raksha Bandhan

New Delhi: The Delhi government on Thursday said it has decided to provide free rides to women on state-run buses on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on August 29.

“The facility of free travel for women will be available on Raksha Bandhan day in all the buses of Delhi Transport Corporation and cluster buses across the state,” Transport Minister Gopal Rai said. “The decision has been taken to provide safe, comfortable and convenient ride to women,” he added. “The facility will be applicable in all categories including cluster buses (except AC buses) between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m on Raksha Bandhan day.”

Nagpur, August 8, 2017: A bunch of Tibetan ladies from neighboring Gondia locale today tied rakhi on the wrist of RSS boss Mohan Bhagwat on the event of Raksha Bandhan.

On each Raksha Bandhan, Tibetan ladies from Gothangaon in Gondia area visit the RSS base camp here so as to tie rakhi on Bhagwat’s wrist.

After their flight in 1959 to India, Tibetan fugitives were restored in different parts of the nation.

Gothangaon is one such fugitive settlement.
