Nawada: While addressing a public rally at Warisaliganj, about 23km from here, Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday made a plethora of promises to woo voters in support of sitting JD(U) Warisaliganj MLA Pradip Kumar Mahto. Nitish promised a bouquet of measures to people if re-elected to power. Promising basic needs including electricity, tap water, toilet to every home by the end of next calendar year, Nitish Kumar pledged to provide cash credit card up to a limit of Rs 4 lakh to all financially challenged students who desire of higher education after school level. He campaigned saying his party would work relentlessly to set up more ITIs, polytechnics, engineering and medical colleges and ensure monthly allowance of Rs 1000 twice for nine months each to unemployed youth between the age of 21-25. Highlighting his works, he mentioned that 66,000km roads and innumerable bridges and culverts were constructed under his stewardship.

Lambasting Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his DNA remark against him, he said it was “ashobhniya” of a PM to refer to a Chief Minister’s DNA. Refuting the claim that Bihar has turned into a den for criminals, he alleged, crime was more in BJP-ruled states like Maharashtra, MP, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Jharkhand.

Notably, Kaushal Yadav, the three-time JD-U MLA from Govindpur who has been shifted to Hisua this time and his three-time JD-U MLA wife from Nawada who has been shifted to Govindpur on a Congress ticket, were absent on the occasion.
