October 22, 2016: Pierce Brosnan who is popular for his role as the British spy James Bond, recently became the brand ambassador of 'Pan Bahar'! Internet fell apart as soon as the news came out. Apparently, the actor was tricked into it.

"I have greatest love and affection for India and its people. I would never have entered into an agreement to promote a product in India that is dangerous to one's health."

In an interview with People Magazine, the actor said that according to his contract Pan Bahar was a 'Tooth Whitener/ Mouth Freshener'

Brosnan further added that he agreed to advertise because it was presented as "all-natural containing neither tobacco, supari, nor any other harmful ingredient."

"As a man who has spent decades championing women's healthcare and environmental protection, I was distressed to learn of Pan Bahar's unauthorized and deceptive use of my image to endorse their range of pan masala products."

He was "deeply shocked and saddened" about the whole issue, as he himself lost his first wife and daughter to cancer.

The James Bond actor asked the company to remove his image from all their products.

"I shall endeavor to rectify this matter. In the meantime, please accept my sincerest and heartfelt apologies to all whom I have offended."
