Artificial Intelligence is capable of creating more life simplifying tools

By Mahyah Binti Idris

Artificial intelligence (AI ) is one of those terms which always manage to be one of the trending topics. A majority of us think of AI as rocket science or robots ruling the world, which is shown in sci-fi movies. However, in real world it is a different story i.e., AI and humans go hand in hand. Everyone has a fear that AI will steal jobs but it can create more employment than it eliminates.

Artificial Intelligence is capable of creating more life simplifying tools which will in turn increase the employment rate and these simplifying tools aren't only helpful for people associated with tech, but such inventions are helpful for people in all genres. Therefore, while AI will be able to create new employment, it will also aid individuals.

Many people today, including Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Motors, believe that if real world AI is accomplished, digital robots would quickly outsmart humans. According to Elon Musk, by implementing sophisticated AI systems, we are on the verge of making a bigger blunder that might either put humanity in peril or put an end to it. What is artificial intelligence?

Britannica's basic definition of artificial intelligence is "the ability of a digital computer or computer controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent beings." When it comes to advances in computing, systems, and technology, "AI" has become a common phrase to represent any improvements in computing, systems, and technology.

What will be the effect of artificial intelligence on the future of work?

Everything that exists in this world has pros and cons, AI is no different. Many of today's jobs will be eliminated by artificial intelligence, while others will be created that are yet to be developed. The conclusion of a two-year research by the McKinsey Global Institute, found that artificial intelligence may replace up to 30 percent of the labor force. On the basis of history, it appears logical to conclude that AI and automation-related anxieties and concerns are rational, yet ultimately erroneous. Some employment might be eliminated as a result of technological advancements; still we will need more human workers to perform the remaining tasks.

What will be the effect of artificial intelligence on the future of life?

Our lives might be made safer by artificial intelligence. And this is particularly true when it comes to risky occupations like the military, engineering, testing of new products and construction at unreachable areas, robots are even capable of performing medical procedures which require the finest amount of precision. Dementia sufferers may rely on artificial intelligence to remind them to take their prescriptions, eat meals, and even locate day-to-day equipment like a cane, spectacles or a TV remote.

We all should be delighted to witness technology become a greater part of our life with each passing day and by trying to focus on the positive side of AI, it is possible for us to make our professional as well as personal life easier. But on the other hand, it is really important for each one of us to invest in the education and infrastructure which is needed to support people who are not much capable of understanding the changing trends of artificial intelligence.

An illustration of the nursery rhyme, Jack and Jill

A hilarious rhyme that children often chant cheerily while jumping around, Jack and Jill is another example of the dark history covered up in light-hearted rhyme. Instead of England though, this is a rhyme that sheds light on the history of France.

Unlike other rhymes, the rhyme is part fiction and part history, since only the first two lines can be taken as an allusion to the past.
