ASUS Refreshes its Vivobook Series in India

Running Windows 10, both the Vivobooks come with dual-storage designs that could be specified with up to a 512GB SSD and 1TB HDD

Taiwanese tech major ASUS on Tuesday refreshed its Vivobook series with two new models — a 14-inch Vivobook X412 and a 15.6-inch Vivobook X512 — in India.

Both X412 and X512 feature frameless four-sided NanoEdge displays and will be available at starting prices of Rs 33,990 and Rs 34,990, respectively.

The devices are powered by 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor with NVIDIA GeForce MX250 discrete graphics that would support smooth multitasking.

“Both X412 and X512 deliver high performance and easy portability. We are affirmative that our users would appreciate the new offerings and look forward to an affirmative response,” said Arnold Su, Head of consumer notebooks and Republic of Games (ROG) business, ASUS India.

Running Windows 10, both the Vivobooks come with dual-storage designs that could be specified with up to a 512GB SSD and 1TB HDD.

In addition, the devices come with fingerprint sensors and stereo speakers with ASUS SonicMaster technology and surround effects.

While the 14-inch Vivobook X412 is only available on Flipkart, the 15-inch Vivobook X512 is available for purchase online as well as authorised offline ASUS sellers in transparent silver, slate grey, peacock blue and coral crush colour variants. (IANS)

Social video app TikTok has reached 1.5 billion downloads worldwide on the App Store as well as Google Play and India leads the chart with 466.8 million or about 31 per cent of all unique installs.

In 2019, the app accumulated 614 million downloads — six per cent more than it had last year, reported mobile intelligence firm Sensor Tower.

India has been a fast adoptor in 2019, driving up 277.6 million downloads so far this year, or roughly 45 per cent of all global installs.

China generated the second largest amount of downloads with 45.5 million, or 7.4 percent, while the US is No 3 with 37.6 million installs, or about 6 per cent, this year.

The figure does not include installs from third-party Android stores in the country, said Sensor Tower.

TikTok with 614 million downloads currently is the third-most downloaded non-gaming app of the year, behind WhatsApp at the top with 707.4 million installs and Facebook Messenger at second spot with 636.2 million.

Facebook is fourth with 587 million downloads and Instagram at fifth spot with 376.2 million.
