Actress Madhuri Dixit Not Planning to Fight Lok Sabha Elections

There were reports that actress Madhuri Dixit Nene might contest the Lok Sabha elections from Pune for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but her representative has denied all such claims, saying that they are false.

A report claimed that Madhuri’s name has been shortlisted for the Pune Lok Sabha seat.

But Madhuri’s spokesperson denied the reports.

“This news is false and speculative,” the spokesperson told IANS.

Madhuri Dixit, who entered the industry in 1984 with “Abodh”, has remained a pivotal part of the Indian entertainment industry and has enthralled fans through meaty roles in films like “Tezaab”, “Ram Lakhan”, “Dil”, “Beta”, “Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!”, “Anjaam”, “Mrityudand”, “Pukar”, “Dil To Pagal Hai” and “Devdas”. She also starred in “Gulaabi Gang”.

She took a break after marriage and returned to Bollywood with “Aaja Nachle” in 2007.

At the moment, she is busy with “Kalank” and “Total Dhamaal”. (IANS)

Actress Madhuri Dixit Nene says she has tried to give her best in every role in her life — right from being an actor to a mother to a wife.

“I was fortunate to get good songs and collaborate with amazing choreographers to create such memorable songs which are loved and enjoyed till date so much,” Madhuri Dixit said in a statement.

“And there is no substitute to hard work. To succeed, 2 per cent is genius and 98 per cent is hard work. I have tried to give my best in every role in my life, right from being an actor, dancer, mother, wife,” added the actress, who is married to Shriram Nene.

Madhuri Dixit, who shares two sons with her husband, expressed her views when she became a part of StarPlus’ show “Dance+4”.

“One of the most important aspects of dancing is growing and practicing every day,” she said.
