Ranchi, October 4, 2017 : Actor Anupam Kher along with the team of his forthcoming production venture “Ranchi Diaries” on October 3 met Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
The team of Ranchi Diaries – including actors Himansh Kohli and Soundarya Sharma and writer-director Sattwik Mohanty – met Das to thank him for the support that the government extended to the film.
“In the last couple of years, the Jharkhand government has been very forthcoming and supportive of the films that are being made to spread awareness about the cultural heritage and tourism of the state,” Anupam said in a statement.
“We are very fortunate to have been given this (support) by the CM. It was a pleasure meeting him today (Tuesday). He also said that they are trying to make the film tax free since the whole film is shot here,” he added.
“Ranchi Diaries” follows the story of “Gudiya”, played by debutante Soundarya and her friends, Taaha Shah and Himansh , who are out to make it big in a small town (Ranchi). It is Anupam’s first production.

The legendary superstar worked as a clerk in an accountancy firm for a meagre salary of Rs 85 to make ends meet. Dev Anand spent many years struggling in Mumbai before getting into acting. He also toiled hard at the Military Censor Office and earned Rs. 160.
It was the Indian iconic actor Ashok Kumar who inspired Dev Anand to become an actor. Dev Anand got his first break in the film ‘Ziddi’. The film was a hit of that time and was directed by Shaheed Latif.
Dev Anand was quite famous in the Bollywood industry for his love for one of the most graceful actress of that time, Suraiya. According to reports in the media, the love chemistry between Dev Anand and Suraiya’s blossomed on the sets of the film Vidya. One day, while shooting for the song ‘Kinare kinare chale jaayenge’, the boat on which Dev Anand and Suraiya were shooting got capsized and like a real Bollywood hero, he rescued Suraiya. But unfortunately, their love story didn’t end well. Suraiya’s maternal grandmother opposed the marriage with Dev Anand due to inter-religious faith.
