New Delhi, March 27, 2017: The Mental Healthcare Bill 2016, which makes provision to protect, promote and fulfil the rights of persons during delivery of mental healthcare and services, secured parliamentary approval on Monday with the Lok Sabha’s assent to the legislation.

The bill was passed by the Rajya Sabha in August 2016. (IANS)

This will be part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s day-long hunger strike that day to protest against the disruption of Parliament by the opposition. BJP President Amit Shah will observe a hunger strike at Hubli in Karnataka while party MPs will fast in their constituencies. IANS
