The Indian passport currently ranks 83rd on the Henley Passport Index.

According to the London-based global citizenship and residence advice service, the Indian passport currently ranks 83rd on the Henley Passport Index, up seven places from 90th last year. Based on unique data supplied by the International Air Transport Association, it issued the rankings for the year 2022.

According to the analysis, Japan and Singapore will have the most powerful passports in the world in 2022. Both nations have a 192 visa-free score. With a visa-free score of 26 and 28, Afghanistan (rank 111) and Iraq (rank 110) remain in the 'worst passports to have' category. Pakistan's passport is ranked fourth among the lowest or weakest passports in the world.

The Henley Passport Index is a standard reference tool for global citizens and sovereign governments to analyse passport rank on the global mobility spectrum. It is updated quarterly.
