Ranveer Chops Off His Beard To Look Alike Young Alauddin Khilji In ‘Padmavati’

Mumbai, September 23, 2017: Actor Ranveer Singh has shaved off his beard for his character as young Alauddin Khilji, in his upcoming film Padmavati.

Ranveer was looking dapper at the GQ Men of the year award on Friday night and while interacting with media the actor informed that “Padmavati” is shaping up really well and he shaved off his beard to shoot young Alauddin Khilji’s sequence.

“There are lots of expectations with ‘Padmavati’… Film is shaping up really well. I am very excited about the film. As of now, I shaved off my beard to shoot young Alauddin’s portion and I really miss my beard,” said Ranveer.

The makers of “Padmavati” released the first look of the film featuring Deepika Padukone, who is playing the title role in the film, on Friday.

Commenting on this Ranveer said, “Now slowly material will start to come. Deepika’s look has been launched then Shahid’s and my look will also be out and after that trailer of the film will get release.”

Film ‘Padmavati’ also features, Deepika Padukone as ‘Rani Padmavati’ of Chittor and Shahid Kapoor as ‘Raja Rawal Ratan Singh’. The film is produced by Bhansali Pictures and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. It is scheduled to release on December 1, 2017.

“I think it is extremely important for those who are in positions of influence or power to bring about social change. It is extremely important for them to speak up about whatever issue it might be,” Deepika told IANS in an interview.

Of late, film actors and filmmakers are attempting storylines which have a strong underlying message that can bring change in society. The latest example is Rani Mukerji’s “Hichki”, which talks about how a woman with Tourette Syndrome, a neuropsychiatric disorder, makes it her strength and becomes a teacher.

“As long as anything that you consume, whether it is social media or otherwise, is done in moderation, and you are aware about your social health, I think you are on the right path,” said the 32-year-old.

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters to her is “peace of mind”. Deepika said she wants to see India as the happiest nation in the world.

“My vision for the Foundation is that we become the happiest country in the world. I see Bhutan having their happiness minister, and even some of the Scandinavian countries have the highest rate of mental happiness and I want India to be there, sooner or later,” she signed off. IANS
