Sadar Bazaar which lies in the area of North Delhi is considered to be one of the most famous markets of Delhi. In fact, when foreigners visit India, they often intend to visit this market.
This market is known for its age-old shops of cosmetics, jewellery, and household items. Though, Sadar Bazaar is a wholesale market but it also caters to occasional retail buyers.
In fact, some people consider Sadar Bazaar as mini-Chandni Chowk because it is generally found to be heavily crowded. At the same time, this market is considered to be one of the greatest markets in Asia.
The history of Sadar Bazaar lies in 1857 when neighbours like Paharganj, Kishenganj, and Pahari Dhiraj existed. Soon, with the passage of time, these separate pockets grew and merged. Hence, Sadar Bazaar was born after merging into Pahari Dhiraj.
Interestingly, Sadar Bazaar is further divided into different sub markets like the Pratap Market, Swadeshi Market, Teliwara Market, and many more.
Even today, when one wants to experience life and all the zeal and zest, Sadar Bazaar is always on their list!
