Oct 3, 2017: An astounding floating palace, Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur, is the ultimate romantic destination for you and your better half, in the coming season.

This floating palace amidst Lake Pichola was constructed by Maharana Jagat Singh II in 1746, and today it’s a lavish five-star hotel and in addition, an ideal shooting location.

The floating palace is situated opposite the bigger City Palace in Udaipur and owns 360 degrees of the lake and city view from its spot in the quiet waters. Reestablished in the 1960s, the hotel incorporates 66 rooms and 17 suites with all day and all night facilities.

Also, in case you’re tingling to get your feet on dry land, getting to and from the hotel is only a fast excursion by water taxi from the city pier.

The hotel also offers a full-sized swimming pool, yoga centres, a housetop bar, restaurant, and a spa on a pontoon.

Rooms cost between $590 (38,000 INR) and over $7,700 (500,000 INR) every night, depending on the size and sort of room you choose to book.

As kids growing up in different states, Shoba Narayan and Michael Maliakel shared a love of one favorite film — "Aladdin." Both are of Indian descent, and in the animated movie, they saw people who looked like them.

That shared love has gone full-circle this month as Narayan and Maliakel lead the Broadway company of the musical "Aladdin" out of the pandemic, playing Princess Jasmine and the hero from the title, respectively.
