New Delhi: After tensions escalated along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Jammu & Kashmir's Ladakh region, India and China on Tuesday held two flag meetings to address the same.
The meetings were held simultaneously between 3 PM and 5 PM at Burtse and Chushu and issues related to patrolling were discussed.
Tensions built up after Chinese troops were reportedly building a watch tower close to the border patrolling line near Burtse in northern Ladakh.
After Chinese troops brushed aside the objections raised by the Indian side, India destroyed the watch tower. The tower was reportedly fitted with a camera. After both the sides withdrew some of its force on Monday, the tensions had scaled down.
Burste is located very close to Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) in the Depsang plain. The DBO is very critical for India as it has a military base along with a helipad and a gravel airstrip.
