Subramanian Swamy offers Muslims to keep 39,997 mosques in return of three temples

New Delhi: Bhartiya Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy on Sunday offered the 'Lord Krishna' package to the Muslim community saying that, 'we Hindus want three temples, in return Muslims can keep 39,997 Mosques.

Swamy said that the construction of Ram temple should not be seen as a political agenda. He said that if they don't put their agenda forward now, elections will come and media will say it is happening because of the elections. He said that one or other election is always around but that does not mean they should not work for it.

Swamy also slammed the protest against the Ram Janmobhoomi talk in Delhi University and termed the protest held by Congress' student wing NSUI's protest as 'intolerance'.

In December 1992, various Hindu groups demolished more than 500 years old Babri Mosque in Ayodhya. Since then it has been a matter of controversy as according to Hindu legends Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Rama. BJP demanded the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

In a ruling, Supreme Court of India in 2010 prohibited any new construction on the site. BJP before 2014 elections had said that if they get the full majority, they will construct the Ram temple. Recently their aide party Shiv Sena exerted pressure by asking for the dates of the construction.

A lot of people blame the BJP and Swamy for politicizing the issue as the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are coming closer.

The 'intellect' of the country, however, has a selective approach about on which matter to speak. Recent Malda riots are the example of this selective approach where the incident was completely ignored by the media. (Image: janpratinidhi.com)
