Chanda Bandh Satyagraha: Why was No List No Donation Started and Why there is a Huge Debate on Rejecting AAP?

December 18, 2016: A former member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and ex-co-convener of the NRI cell of AAP, Dr. Munish Raizada started a campaign against the party which has removed the donors list from the website for past six months.

It should be recalled that the Aam Aadmi Party won a lot of public support after it announced that it will be focusing on the chanda (donations) it collects from the common man and would be the people's party. The party also claimed that they will run on the donations of common public and would only work for their interests and not for any individual or groups with vested interests.

It also claimed that it will be transparent in its dealings and promised that the party put will be putting the list of donors on its website. In this year, July, the list of donors was taken off from the AAP's website. The page says, "Under Construction. New Version coming soon" for past 6 months.

On 26th November, in an open letter, the suspended Aam Aadmi Party member Dr Raizada asked the party to unveil the list of the donors by giving them a deadline of 1 week to reveal the details.

Since the party failed to do that, Dr Raizada's started the Chanda band Satyagraha, the campaign is about asking people not to donate until the party puts the list of donors back on the website. He has even launched a website www.nolistnodonation.com for the same.

On 22nd December, the team of NoListNoDonation Campaign or Chanda band Satyagraha will be meeting Anna Hazare to discuss the matter. On the following day, they will be talking about the matter in details with the media in a press conference in New Delhi.
