The ‘Francophonie Mela’: A massive Celebration of French culture in Delhi

New Delhi, March 15, 2017: The forthcoming festival celebrating the diverse culture of Francophonie communities across the world will strive to promote French culture through discussions, music, theatre, and art shows.

Francophonie is a week long festival which will commence from March 16 at Alliance Francaise, aimed at togetherness of 63 governments of countries where the French language is spoken. The event is going to take place in New Delhi, mentioned PTI report.

The organizer of the event said that "The event aims at bringing together different and diverse cultures from all over the world by the use of a single language – French – thus creating a bond between people from different countries".

Embassies of six countries will come collectively to present their respective cultures and illuminate their rich traditions and culinary specialties. Engaged countries will include Switzerland, Canada, Madagascar, Belgium, and Luxembourg, apart from France.

Other demonstrations will include a performance of Alfred de Musset's French classic 'Les caprices de Marianne' by students of a French school, an exhibition of renowned French artist Vincent Gagliardi's selected engravings as well as mixed media works, along with 'The Francophonie Mela' that will host games, dance and musical performances.
