World’s Heaviest Woman 36-year-old Eman Ahmed Loses 65 kg in UAE

Saudi Arabia, July 28, 2017: Once known to be as the world's heaviest woman, Eman Ahmed (500 kg) was bed-ridden for a long time due to various ailments. On Monday, she was a completely different person at a press conference in Abu Dhabi.

Eman wore a red dress and was able to speak full sentences. She was seen waving to the press at the conference. A hospital statement said she has managed to lose 65 kgs ever since she entered the hospital as an inbound patient, Xinhua news agency reported.

The 36-year-old is currently admitted to Abu Dhabi's Burjeel Hospital. She is now able to sit straight in bed and is able to move her arms. Her daily diet consists of four meals. She will undergo liposuction and abdominoplasty in August to further cut down the excess fat. The process will be followed by plastic surgeries to shape her skin around arms, stomach, and face.

Dr Yassin Shah, medical director at Burjeel Hospital told to Indian Express that Eman will be admitted in the hospital for at least a year and that they will now focus on her leg movements.

Eman suffered from a disruption of glands and elephantiasis disease, which causes a huge amount of water to be retained in the body.

Eman's sister, Shaimaa courted controversy in the past claiming that Mumbai's Saifee Hospital was not taking proper care of her sister. She claimed that Eman was stressed because of what happened in India.

On February 11, Eman was brought to Mumbai's Saifee Hospital and later shifted to Abu Dhabi on May 4 after her sister's allegations of being ill treated in India. Eman lost around 321 kgs in India weighing from 498 kg to 177 kg.

Doctors in Abu Dhabi are aiming to bring Eman's weight less than 100 kilos, reports Gulf News.
