New Delhi, August 23, 2017: The Dubai based and Delhi bred Celebrity Chef, Akshay Nayyar from Kopper Kadai joins hands with The Akshaya Patra foundation, that is working towards Freedom from Hunger Campaign, as the operator of the world's largest NGO-run Mid-Day Meal Programme.

Akshaya Patra's Vrindavan kitchen, which is amongst the biggest kitchens in North India, was visited by Chef Akshay recently, where he cooked for the students.

More than 1.2 lacs students from 2000 schools of Mathura and Vrindavan get their mid-day meals served everyday by the kitchen. Akshaya Patra, with its 31 kitchens scattered across India, serves around 1.6 Million children from 13808 schools in 12 states of the country.

"It's an honour for me & my team to collaborate with The Akshaya Patra Foundation which works towards the noble cause of providing mid-day meals to students everyday. By providing mid-day meals, they not only feed the kids but also motivate them, and give them a reason to be in school and study. My team & I feel privileged to cook in Vrindavan Kitchen where we have served food to more than 1.5 lacs students," said Celebrity Chef Akshay Nayyar, During the visit, mentions the ANI report.

Chef Akshay along with his Kopper Kadai Delhi team cooked chapatis, kadhi and rice in the Vrindavan kitchen. He also talked about the importance of healthy food and learning, with the children.

"We are happy to have Kopper Kadai Delhi Team & Celebrity Chef Akshay Nayyar on board to spread the word about need of nutritious meals for underserved children, through his campaign #FreedomFromHunger. We are delighted to provide the platform and support him in his endeavor," said Mr. Shridhar Venkat, CEO, The Akshaya Patra Foundation.

"We feel extremely privileged to be a part of this activity where we served kids with hygienic food made by our team in Akshaya Patra kitchen. Chef Akshay Nayyar had been awarded as "Most Promising Chef" at the World Brands Summit 2016, Dubai.
