Bollywood and Comedy are both entangled! Comedy genre so far has been loved and cherished by the audience who consume bollywood content. The Magic of comedy films is so enormous that they can give you the assertion of Success on the Box Office if the storyline is Spiffing and Gripping!

It also takes the effort of a Pragmatic Director who aptly knows how to make his audience laugh.

Today, I have brought a list of some Evergreen and Classic Bollywood Comedies which are inordinate in their own Aesthetic and my personal favourite. I have tried to append all classic and cult comedies which were a huge hit!

1. CHALTI KA NAAM GAADI (1958)

• DIRECTOR: Satyen Bose

• STARRING: Kishore Kumar, Madhubala, Ashok Kumar, Manoj Kumar

Being one of the finest Comedies in Bollywood of all time, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi is a natural and reasonable film. This film is a comedy drama about how a rich girl meets a simpleton motor mechanic and how they fell in love in the wake of Dangers to the family. The songs in this film are extremely Catchy. Beyond a standard frame of cinema, this film excels in so many things you'll later understand once you watch it.

2. PADOSAN (1968)

• DIRECTOR: Jyoti Swaroop

• STARRING: Sunil Dutt, Saira Banu, Kishore Kumar, Mehmood

Padosan is a beautiful film that revolves around the story of a beautiful girl (Saira Banu) and her neighbour (Sunil Dutt) who is a simple and jolly fellow but loves her very secretly. With a whacky plot, there are many sequences that will make you laugh in a sum! It's a Romantic comedy. Along with the story, the songs are absolutely alluring. The Song "Mere saamne vali Khidki mein" is still hummed by many. Surely, the movie will leave an indelible imprint on your heart and mind!

3. GOL MAAL (1979)

• DIRECTOR: Hrishikesh Mukherjee

• STARRING: Amol Palekar, Utpal Dutt, Bindiya Goswami

Being one of the most hilarious Comedies of bollywood, Gol Maal is a satire that revolves around a plot confined to the situation created by a Man's simple lie to secure his job, which eventually gets escalated with more complex lies when his orthodox boss gets suspicious of it! The acting and music in this film makes up for most of the scenes. Eventually, Gol Maal was a huge hit in terms of Box Office Collection.

4. ANGOOR (1982)

• DIRECTOR: Gulzar

• STARRING: Sanjeev Kumar, Devan Verma, Maushumi Chatterjee, Aruna Irani, Deepti Naval

Angoor is a splendid classic comedy based on Shakespeare's play "Comedy of Errors". The film is full of comic situations derived out of two pairs of twins who are identical. Director Gulzar Sahab has done a tremendous job in maintaining the stream of humour as that of the play while Presenting the story in the form of a film. He has produced this hilarious and startling comedy in Indian context. The background score is thoroughly realistical! If you are a fan of comedies, then this should be a must watch for you.

5. JAANE BHI DO YAARON (1983)

• DIRECTOR: Kundan Shah

• STARRING: Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Ravi Baswani, Pankaj Kapur, Satish Shah, Satish Kaushik, Neena Gupta, Ashok Banthiya

Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron is a pure and clean satirical comedy reflecting the corruption in Indian Political system, Business and Bureaucracy. This movie will make you Understand the gap of thoughts between classes in India. This film is a classic contemporary movie, it's charm will never fade away as long as corruption, comedy and conspiracy will live in the Indian Society. This film is a must watch, being one of the most dark comedy in the history of Bollywood.

The Comedy Genre without any doubt is not a new trend in Indian Cinema, it is one of the most utilized genres and the films that come under it have always been beautifully crafted and came out as Paisa-Vasool Entertainers.

Comedy is the most inseparable part of the Indian Film Industry and we should be Thankful for it!
