L&T to construct Bullet Train project package near Vadodara

An official from Larsen & Toubro's construction arm said on Monday that the National High Speed Rail Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) has given it an order to build an essential package for the future Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project near Vadodara.

The deal comprises designing and constructing the project's'significant' Package No. MAHSR-C-5, which is projected to cost between Rs 1,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore.

The contract will entail planning and constructing civil and construction works for an 8.198-kilometer double-line high-speed railway.

The project will include Vadodara's main station, a confirmation car depot, viaducts and bridges, crossing bridges, as well as architectural, MEP, and other related works, according to the business.

The project's alignment runs through Vadodara, Gujarat, and is expected to be completed in just over four years.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad line traverses 155.76 km in Maharashtra, 4.30 km in the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and the rest 348.04 km in Gujarat, and is considered a pet project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The country's first high-speed rail project will have 12 stations, and trains will be able to travel at a peak speed of 320 kmph, covering the distance between the two states' financial centres in two hours with restricted stops or three hours with all stops.
