On the occasion of India's 73rd Republic Day, the poster for filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's upcoming film 'The Kashmir Files' was shown at the 'Times Square' tower in New York.

Vivek resorted to social media to inform his admirers of the news. He shared a video of the movie's digital poster at the 'Times Square' tower on Twitter. He penned, "#TheKashmirFiles in Times Square, Manhattan. It's a source of honour and pleasure for the fans and supporters of @kp global, as this is the first time any film has been marketed on the world's most costly site."

The film is based on documented footage and video interviews with first-generation victims of the genocide against Kashmir's Pandit population, which resulted in the group's wholesale departure from the state.

"But the lovers and friends of this film decided that they must promote it in Times Square – the world's most costly and prestigious advertising spot," the filmmaker said in the statement, "and they raised their own cash and did it, lead by worldwide Kashmiri pandits diaspora."

"It's a matter of dignity and pride for India and every single Indian," he added, "since the topic of genocide in Kashmir is now being mainstreamed only by the fans and followers."

Vivek and his actress wife Pallavi Joshi were stationed in the United States for almost a month for special screenings of aThe Kashmir Files' in various locations.

Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi, and Chinmay Mandlekar feature in the film, which was written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri. Zee Studios, Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi, and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri produced the film.
