Riyadh: The Indian Embassy at Riyadh has said that the Indian government has not put curbs on sending workers to Saudi Arabia.
A report published by a local media outlet said that India had suspended sending workers to Saudi Arabia, citing a Saudi labour directive that 25 percent of all foreign manpower must be housemaids.
Indian embassy spokesman Hifzur Rahman said: "The Indian government has not issued any statement that suspends sending workers to the kingdom. Any such report is planted and misleading."
Saudi Arabia is home to some 2.8 million Indians, the largest expatriate group in the country. (IANS)
