The voter card is a crucial document for every Indian citizen. It not just lets them exercise their right to choose their representatives, but also acts as an important document for identification. Now, you will require the part number present in the electoral role to apply for your voter ID. Given below are the details of how to find that part number. 

Why is it important to know the part number? 

  • The part number is required to apply for your new voter card. 
  • You need the part number to change the details of your present voter card, such as your name and address. 
  • Cancellation of the voter ID from a specific constituency. 

How to find your part number in your voter ID card 

You can check the part number in the electoral roll in two ways: 

  • Checking the voter ID of your neighbors or family members 
  • Find the part number of the voter card online 

For the first method, the part number is the same for the ones staying in the same area. So, ask anyone who stays close by for the voter card and look at the back of their card. You will find the information on 'part number and name' on the opposite side of your card. The Election Commission of India makes it mandatory to have the part number when applying for a new voter card. 

Finding the part number in the voter card online 

  • You will need to go to the National Voters' Services website to get your part number.  
  • After visiting the website, you can find your own account by inputting your personal details or entering your Epic number. Select one of the options to proceed. 
  • If you select the personal details, you will need to enter your full name, father's name, date of birth, gender, age, state, and respective constituency.  
  • After entering all the necessary information, click on that link below the column saying 'Polling Station.' 
  • Remember that a lot of profiles with your name might come up. Thus, it's crucial to enter all the personal details to get your exact account. 
  • If you want to search for the profile through the Epic number mentioned in your electoral roll, enter the Epic number in the box and choose the state you stay in before clicking on 'continue.' 
  • Your profile comes up as your Epic Number is that unique code which only an individual has for himself. 
  • After your profile comes up, click on that link below the column saying 'Polling Station.' 
  • The location of your polling station will come up on the following page. To go to the next page, click the option saying 'See Your Election Officials.' 
  • Now, you will get the details of the Election Officers. By the end of this particular page, there is an option saying 'Click here for Electoral Roll.' Download the PDF by clicking this option. 
  • On the top right side of this page that you found in the PDF file, there is the Part Number. 

You can register for your new voter card or make alterations to the existing one online. As you will see, it does not take too long.
