President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order to support the American Artificial Intelligence industry by promoting the export of full-stack American AI technology packages to allies and partners worldwide.

These packages include hardware, data systems, AI models, cybersecurity measures, applications for sectors like healthcare, education, agriculture, transportation, and more.

President Trump recognizes that AI is a foundational technology that will shape the future of innovation, defense, and prosperity for decades to come. Therefore, the United States must lead in developing and deploying AI technologies, standards, and governance models to reduce global reliance on systems from adversarial nations.

To do this America needs new data centers, new semiconductor and chip manufacturing facilities, new power plants and transmission lines. “And under my leadership,” vowed President Trump at the executive order signing, “we’re going to get that job done.”

President Trump acknowledged that winning the AI race “will be a test of our capacities unlike anything since the dawn of the space age.”

“It will challenge us to marshal all of our strength and flex the muscles of American ingenuity and resolve like probably never before. It will require us to blast through obsolete systems, cut through thickets of regulation. . . .and rebuild the bedrock of our country.”

President Trump urged U.S. technology companies to “put America first.”

“As we push even further into this exciting frontier, let us never forget that all of this prosperity and progress has come from the culture of freedom and hard work, merit, ambition, and risk taking passed down from one generation of Americans to the next. Silicon Valley rose to wealth, fame, and glory by exemplifying these values, and it will win this race not by rejecting them, but by embracing them like they have never been embraced before.”

A key strategy for realizing “AI dominance is to get the entire world running on the backbone of American technology,” said President Trump.

“Under my administration, we will maintain necessary protections for our national security, but we will never forget that the greatest threat of all is to forfeit the race and force our partners into rival technology. We’re not going to do that.”

“America is the country that started the AI race,” said President Trump. “And as president of the United States, I’m here today to declare that America is going to win it. We’re going to work hard. We’re going to win it. Because we will not allow any foreign nation to beat us.” [VOA/VP]
