Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar Gets Engaged to Business Heiress Saaniya Chandhok in Private Ceremony

Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar is engaged to Saaniya Chandhok, the granddaughter of prominent Mumbai entrepreneur Ravi Ghai. According to sources, the engagement took place on August 13 in a private ceremony attended only by close friends and family members. While multiple media outlets have confirmed the news, no official statement has yet been released by either the Tendulkar or Chandhok families. 

Social media went into overdrive after reports surfaced, but the couple has maintained a low public profile regarding their relationship.

About the Saniya

Saaniya Chandhok comes from one of Mumbai’s most influential business families. She is the daughter of businessman Gaurav Ghai and granddaughter of Ravi Iqbal Ghai, chairman of Graviss Hospitality Ltd. The family owns the InterContinental Hotel on Marine Drive, the Brooklyn Creamery ice cream brand, and manages Baskin-Robbins operations in India. Under Ravi Ghai, Graviss expanded globally, establishing ice cream manufacturing units in the Middle East. Media reports suggest a family feud between Ravi and Gaurav over ownership of the InterContinental Hotel. 

Despite her family’s legacy, Saaniya has built her own career. A London School of Economics graduate, she is the founder, Designated Partner, and Director of Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP in Mumbai, a company focused on pet care and nutrition. In late 2024, she earned a Veterinary Technician diploma from the Worldwide Veterinary Service, as shared in an Instagram post by Mr. Paws. 

Fans have noticed that Saaniya appears to be close friends with Arjun’s sister, Sara Tendulkar. The two have been spotted together at IPL matches in recent seasons and were photographed during a trip to Jaipur earlier this year.

About Arjun Tendulkar

Arjun, 25, is a left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder who currently plays for Goa in domestic cricket. He began his career with Mumbai in the 2020–21 season, making his T20 debut against Haryana before moving to Goa in 2022–23. At the junior level, he has represented India U19. In red-ball cricket, he has played 17 matches, scoring 532 runs with one century and two fifties, and taking 37 wickets, including a five-wicket haul. In List A cricket, he has appeared in 17 matches, scoring 76 runs and claiming 25 wickets. 

He made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2023, playing four matches and taking three wickets, with his first being Bhuvneshwar Kumar of SunRisers Hyderabad. Retained for the 2024 season, he featured in only one match without a wicket. Across five IPL matches, he has bowled 73 deliveries, taking three wickets at an average of 38.00, with best figures of 1/9 and an economy rate of 9.36. His batting in the tournament has been limited to 13 runs off nine balls at a strike rate of 144.44.
