Adhir Chowdhury flexes muscle from Nabanna Rally

Kolkata: Nabanna Rally by Congress party gave a clear indication that they would give a tough fight to the leading Trinamool Congress in the 2016 Bengal Assembly elections.

The Congress party, led by Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, was able to portray the unanimous picture of a united party. All the leading and the so-called against the Adhir line leaders, like Mausam Benejir Noor, Abu Hasem Khan Chowdhury, and Abhijeet Mukhopadhay were also present at the rally.

The protest march was focused on the issue of student death in Sabong and above all the lawless situation of the state. The Congress leaders sat at the Dorina Crossing in Esplanade after police restricted their move towards Nabanna. The agitated supporters blocked the road and burnt effigies of Mamata Bannerjee.

From the Dharna Manch, Congress leaders gave a strong message to the government as Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said: "Soon the door of Nabanna will be opened for the people."

The party leaders called off the demonstration after Additional Police Commissioner R Shivkumar accepted Congress' memorandum. The party leaders took it as a moral win and claimed it would give a boost to the party workers before the assembly elections.

But the main success of the Nabanna Rally was Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury's ability in marginalising the confrontation between the top party leaders and showcasing an unanimous picture of the Bengal Congress.
