Seven patients lose vision after getting ‘infected’ injection

Varanasi: At least seven eye patients reported a problem in their eyesight after the alleged use of infected injection by a doctor at the Ophthalmology department at Sir Sunderlal Hospital here.

"The seven patients had consulted Dr. OPS Maurya on Jan 28, he asked them to buy an injection collectively for Rs 23500," said Sanjeev Mishra, SHO Lanka Police Station.

Five of the victims have given a joint complaint, they lost sight in one eye next day,

These sufferers reached Lanka police station to lodge an FIR against the Benaras Hindu University professor Dr. OP Singh Maurya, who gave injections to them.
