New Delhi, September 8, 2017: One of the most expensive films of all time, Rajinikanth starrer '2.0' is all set to hit screens on January 25, 2018. Ever since the first look of the movie released in November 2016, it has created a frenzy among fans, who have, since then, been eagerly waiting for the movie, the trailer, or at least the teaser to show up.

2.0, initially, was scheduled for a Diwali release. Fans were disappointed with the announcement by the movie makers, of the movie being postponed to January 25, 2018.

"We are working on world class VFX, and it is taking time. An extensive portion of the visual effects work will be carried out in the USA, and our team is working in full swing now. So, we have zeroed in on January 25th, 2018 as the worldwide release date," Raju Mahalingam told PTI.

In an end to this disappointment, however, the crew has an exciting update for the fans, the wait now is not too long. The creative head for the film has confirmed that the teaser and trailer will be released in November and December respectively, according to The Indian Express report.

"Festivities to Begin" Come Oct -Audio Release in Dubai!!! Nov-Teaser in Hyderabad and Dec-Trailer in Namma Singara Chennai!!! 2.0 Loading!!" Raju Mahalingam, the creative head of Lyca Productions, tweeted from his personal handle.

The team of 2.0, appears to have planned to cover places of all sorts in order to make the launch an even bigger event. The film will be released in Spanish, Chinese and Korean languages as well along with Tamil, according to the Times of India report.

2.0 is a sequel to the 2011 film 'Robot' (Enthiran in Tamil), in which Rajinikanth shared the screen space with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan He's going to reprise his character as chitti and Dr Vaseegaran in the upcoming film, however, Akshay Kumar would be a new element playing a negative role in the movie.

Akshay playing the antagonist opposite Rajinikanth has been one major reason for the buzz among the viewers. Akshay is making his debut in the south industry with 2.0. Akshay's extraordinary look with golden eyeballs, long nails, rough eyebrows and a bizarre hairstyle has only added to the already beefed up excitement.

Amy Jackson is the actress in the movie and the film's music is by AR Rahman.

The Sci-Fi movie has surpassed Baahubali when it comes to expense, which was reportedly made in the budget of Rs 150 crore.
