Lakes in India are plenty and beautiful. One must visit these lakes to relax and gain some peace of mind. The cool atmosphere around the lakes is what one needs to calm their minds. Here is the list of Indian lakes which you must visit at least once.

Wular Lake

Wular Lake is the largest lake in India. It is also the largest freshwater lake in India. This Indian Lake is also one of the largest in the whole Asia and is located in Jammu and Kashmir. The lake is famous for its habitat of fishes and for a large number of tourists it attracts every year.

Jaisamand Lake

Jaisamand Lake or also known as the Dheka Lake is the largest manmade lake in India. It is also one of the most beautiful lakes in India and is situated in the Udaipur district of Rajasthan. The lake is mesmerising and is definitely worth a visit.

Dal Lake

When we are talking about the list of natural lakes in India, we just cannot forget this Indian lake. Dal Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in India and is also one of the most famous. It is located in Jammu Kashmir and is a great tourist attraction.

Damdama Lake

Damdama Lake is one of the largest Indian lakes and is situated in Haryana. It is also one of the most famous weekend getaway destinations around Delhi. This Indian lake is famous for the activities which take place around it like rock-climbing, trekking, fishing, etc.

Chilka Lake

This Indian lake is the brackish water lake. Chilka is the largest coastal lake in India. Situated in Orissa, it is Asia's largest inland salt-water lagoon. Bhimtal Lake

Bhimtal Lake is totally a tourist's lake. This Indian lake is situated in Uttarakhand and is one of the largest lakes of its Kumaun region. This lake is a magnificent view of the tourists and one can also spot various migratory birds here. Another famous lake near this one is the Naini Lake in Nainital.
