The controversial remark was made on Thursday, Janata Dal-United leader K.C. Tyagi told IANS. Tyagi is one of the 20 members who gave the notice.

"The remarks of Sadhvi Prachi is against the dignity of parliament. We have requested the chairman to accept our notice and initiate a discussion and then (take) action," Tyagi said.

He said the notice was also signed by Congress members Ghulam Nabi Azad, Anand Sharma and Ambika Soni, Samajwadi Party's Niraj Shekhar, CPI-M's Sitaram Yechuri, CPI's D. Raja and others.

The VHP leader had reportedly said in Roorkee that it was a big misfortune that "we have one or two terrorists" in the Rajya Sabha.
