
A pickup van collided with a parked trailer truck in Rajasthan’s Dausa
Eleven devotees, including seven children and three women, died
The victims were mostly from Uttar Pradesh’s Etah and Etawah districts
Eleven devotees died and 11 others were injured in Rajasthan’s Dausa. The accident happened early on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, between 3:30 and 3:45 AM, when a pickup van collided with a parked trailer truck near Bapi village. The devotees were returning from the Khatu Shyam Ji temple in Sikar.
Most victims were residents of Etah and Etawah districts in Uttar Pradesh. Seven children and three women were among those killed. One injured person later died, raising the toll from 10 to 11.
District Collector Devendra Kumar Yadav confirmed the number of casualties. He said, “Nine people have been referred for treatment, and three are being treated in the District Hospital… The accident occurred between a passenger pick-up and a trailer truck.” DSP Ravi Prakash Sharma also confirmed that the accident involved a pickup and a trailer. Emergency services reached the scene soon after the collision.
A witness said 22–23 people were travelling in the pickup van. He confirmed that children aged six to seven years were among the dead.
President Droupadi Murmu expressed grief over the loss of lives. She offered condolences to the bereaved families in a social media post and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
This tragedy follows another fatal accident in Dausa three days earlier, in which five people died in a collision between a car and a trailer truck. In that case, the trailer split and hit the car suddenly. Two people died on the spot, and three died while being transported. The victims were returning home after a competitive exam in Jaipur.
