New Delhi: BJP chief Amit Shah met Lok Janshakti Party leader Ram Vilas Paswan here on Saturday as part of seat-sharing talks with NDA allies for the forthcoming Bihar assembly elections with the alliance partners deciding to have a joint campaign in the state.

Paswan said after the meeting that the NDA constituents – the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party and his LJP – will campaign jointly in the state.

Sources said the LJP is keen to fight on 50 seats out the total 243 while the BJP is willing to give 35-40 seats, but Paswan, in response to a query, said that there was no fight over seat sharing.

“Narendra Modi is the leader of NDA. When the elections are declared, we will decide,” he said.

Paswan, who was accompanied by his son and MP Chirag Paswan to the meeting, said the NDA will expose the “unholy alliance” between Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of the Janata Dal-United and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Prasad in Bihar.

Asked about former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi’s move to join the NDA, Paswan said it will be beneficial.

Shah had Thursday met union minister and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party leader Upender Kushwaha which is part of the NDA at the centre and in Bihar. (IANS)
