Edward Snowden will return to US if guaranteed fair trial

Moscow: Edward Snowden`s Russian lawyer, Anatoly Kucherena said on Tuesday that his client wants to return to US on the condition that he is guaranteed a fair trial.

As things stand now, the US attorney general has only promised that Snowden will not be executed for his crime of leaking major classified documents during his tenure as an analyst at National Security Agency(NSA).

Snowden has been living incognito in Russia since June 23, 2013, where he was given a temporary asylum by Moscow authorities. He also received a residence permit for a period of three years in July 2014, allowing him to stay in Russia till August 2017.
