India can now start exporting mangoes to European Union again as the ban on the same has been lifted by the European Commission.

Mango exports to EU were valued at $10.9 million in 2013 and the ban had been a major setback for India.

Although the mangoes are good to go to EU, the ban on vegetables is still intact.

India took major steps to improve capacity, inspecting staff and infrastructure along with implementing standard operating procedure to guarantee safe exports which has helped in lifting the ban.
