The Chinese head of state Xi Jingping will address the Pakistan's parliament and unveil China's plans for the future of the Pakistan–China ties, according to media reports.

"The dates of the visit are yet to be confirmed. We will announce the visit when appropriate," Pakistan's foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said.

This trip was planned last year but was cancelled because of anti-government protest in Pakistan. Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong on March 10 said the Chinese president had cancelled his visit to Pakistan in March due to domestic engagements, reported The Dawn.

This will be President Xi's first visit to Pakistan as head of state, and the first visit by a Chinese president in nine years. Beijing will discuss issues related to Islamist militancy, Silk Road and development of roads, railways, ports.

Beijing is looking forward to take abigger role in Asia and this visit will strengthen the ties between two countries.
