Government forms tribunal to promote yoga

With an aim to promote, develop and regulate yoga and naturopathy, the government has constituted an expert panel today.

"The ministry of AYUSH has informed that a task force has been constituted by it with a mandate to deliberate and recommend the preferred option for promotion, development and regulation of yoga and naturopathy for education and practice," said Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani while speaking in the Lok Sabha

"The task force would submit its report by September 30", she added.

The Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy (ISM&H) was created in 1995 and was later renamed in November 2003 as AYUSH, with an aim to provide focused attention on Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy
