Congress behaved as it did during Emergency: Modi

New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that the Congress behaviour during the monsoon session of parliament was similar to that during the Emergency a union minister said.Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy said Modi made the statement during a speech at an NDA meeting.
During the NDA meeting, the prime minister reminded of the Emergency and how he had worked against it. He said the way the Congress behaved during Emergency, it had behaved during the parliament session – by creating obstructions,said Rudy.

The PM also referred to the boycott of NITI ( National Institution for Transforming India) Aayog meeting by Congress chief ministers and also mentioned the potshots the Congress leaders took over the Naga peace accord, he said.
Rudy quoted the prime minister as saying that Congress politics was oriented towards "saving a family", while that of the National Democratic Alliance's was towards the country.
It (Congress) is doing politics against all big works of the government," Rudy said.
He said the PM talked about the social security schemes of the government and said it would continue to work with determination for the welfare of the poor, labourers, unemployed and women.
The development of the poor has to take place through the democratic process. The Congress is stopping it. We accept the Congress challenge and we will take the issue to the people," the minister said.
