Toronto, The Indo-Swiss tennis combine of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis suffered a straight games loss and were ousted from the women's doubles semifinals of the Canadian Open here.

French-Slovenian fourth seeds Caroline Garcia and Katarina Srebotnik upset the top seeds 6-3, 6-2 in exactly an hour to take a 2-1 lead in career meetings over the reigning Wimbledon champions on Saturday.

Playing on the outdoor hard courts of the Aviva Centre, Sania and Martina were completely outplayed.

The Indo-Swiss combine did not start well as they served two double faults in the first set. Though they won a break point, Sania and Martina missed out on three more chances which could have put the set in their favor.

On the contrary, Caroline and Katarina converted both the break point opportunities they got to clinch the first set and take the lead in the match.

Two more double faults in the second set really put the top seeds into the back seat. They again won a break point but the fourth seeds clinched two more to easily pocket the set and enter the finals of the $2,678,055 tournament.

Overall, the French-Slovenian combine won 54 of the 95 points played in the match.
