San Jose, USA: Dharma Civilization Foundation (DCF) is organizing the "Major Gift Announcement" event on 22 August, 2015 in San Jose, USA. The event is being organized as part of its efforts to support "Hindu Studies Initiative" at Berkeley.

The event which is scheduled to be held between 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on 22 August, at Wyndham Garden Hotel, will announce a "major gift that will endow the 'Center for Dharma Studies' at the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley" according to the announcement made in their website.

One of the highlights of the event would be a lecture by Dr. Graham Schweig, Christopher Newport University, Virginia, who would speak on the topic: "The Importance of Hindu Theology". The lecture will deal with the importance of theological orientation in the study of religious scriptures and how an analysis of scriptures using secular orientation alone will not reveal the deeper meanings conveyed by the scriptures. Other speakers in the event include Dr. Riess Potterveld, Dr. Rita Sherma, and Mr. Kalyan Viswanathan.

DCF is a non-profit organization based in the USA that aims to "establish the systematic Academic study of 'Dharma', its interpretation and application through the creation of Academic and Intellectual Infrastructure and Institutions."

According to DCF, those who wish to register for the event, must register at their website.
