Paes, Hingis win mixed doubles title in US Open

New York: After winning the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year, Leander Paes and Martina Hingis have now won the US Open mixed-doubles title as well.

They bagged the title by scoring 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 against Americans Sam Querrey and Bethanie Mattek-Sands on Friday. Paes and Hingis have become the first team since 1969 to have won three mixed doubles title in a single year.

Paes won his ninth Grand Slam title in the mixed doubles category. He has also won eight men's doubles championship. Hingis has now won a total of 19 Grand Slam titles.
