Eight people killed, 37 injured in bus accident

Kathmandu: At least eight people were killed and 37 were injured after a passenger bus jumped off a mountain highway accidentally in Nepal's Ramechhap district on Friday, police said.

The bus veered off the road at Gahirachowk area in Manthali Municipality of the district, 137 km from here, police inspector Makhan Yadav told Xinhua news agency.

"Preliminary investigation suggests that the driver is solely responsible for the mishap," the police inspector added.
