New Delhi: The Delhi government has decided to set up a wing to keep an eye on the wrongdoers in its departments in the wake of its Anti Corruption Branch getting paralysed due to the tussle with the central government.

"We have made an information network which will work for the vigilance department. This unit will have officers from vigilance department which we need to strengthen," Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia told the media here after a meeting with the heads of all departments in the state government.

He said that the Anti Corruption Branch is not fighting corruption and, therefore, a network of vigilance officers will be made to check corruption in the government.

At present, the Anti Corruption Branch has two heads, one appointed by the central government and the other appointed by Delhi's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. The matter is in court.

The meeting of officers on Monday was chaired by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who told them that the government will not tolerate corruption at any cost.

"The chief minister plainly told all heads of the departments that the government won't tolerate corruption at any cost — be it a minister, MLA or junior officer," said Sisodia.

"He also told them to ensure that there is no wrongdoing in their respective department and assured them that the government would make all the resources available to stop corruption," he added.

The meeting comes a day after Kejriwal's meeting with AAP legislators in the wake of removal of Asif Ahmed Khan as Delhi's food minster on graft charges.
