Naqvi cautions non-political ministers not to speak on every issue

Lucknow: Senior BJP leader and minister Mukhtaar Abbas Naqvi on Saturday cautioned "non-political" ministers in the Narendra Modi government not to voice their opinion on every issue.

Speaking on the controversy concerning VK Singh, Naqvi said, Singh had a non-political background and his statement was twisted.

"I would rather suggest ministers and leaders that they should be cautious about what they say on various issues," he said.

He said price rise of essential commodities, specially pulses, was apparently the handwork of 'mahangayi mafia' and said the government would soon rein in the spiraling prices.

The sudden spurt in prices of essential items, he added, could also be the handwork of "out of job middle-men at the centre", who after the defeat of the Congress, had taken to hoarding and black marketing of essential items.
