Dhaka: A day after the killing of a publisher of secular books in Bangladesh, another publisher on Sunday received threats to his life through SMS.

"You have published many books of atheists, you have sinned. Be prepared for death! Al-Ahrar, UK," reads the SMS sent to Somoy Prakashan publisher Farid Ahmed, The Daily Star reported.

The threat came a day into the synchronised attacks on publishers of slain secularist writer-blogger Avijit Roy.

Unknown assailants on Saturday hacked to death Faisal Arefin Dipan of Jagriti Prokashani in Shahbagh area here and critically injured Shuddhoswar's Ahmedur Rashid Tutul and two bloggers, Ranadipam Basu and Tareque Rahim, in Lalmatia area in Dhaka.
