New Delhi: Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said on Thursday more youths were joining militancy in Jammu & Kashmir as a reaction to the BJP sharing power in the state.

Azad said the Bharatiya Janata Party wanted to be in the government in sensitive areas like the northeast and Jammu & Kashmir.

In Jammu and Kashmir, they (have) succeeded. More boys are joining militancy as a reaction to BJP forming the government (in Jammu and Kashmir).

The BJP is part of the alliance government in Jammu and Kashmir, which is headed by Peoples Democratic Party leader Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

Azad accused the Modi government of creating an atmosphere not conducive to the smooth functioning of parliament.

They are the culprits but want to be martyrs. I do not think that under the present circumstances, it is congenial to transact business in parliament.

The Congress accused the central government of trying to destabilize its government in Arunachal Pradesh, against which it had protested in parliament on Thursday. (IANS)
