New Delhi: Suspended BJP MP Kirti Azad today said he wants to expose the corrupt in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).

"I have not done anything against the party… but I want to expose those who are corrupt in the DDCA," Azad, also a former India player, told media persons.

"I brought out a lot of things (corruption matters) before the then head, but nobody cared," he added.

Azad also refused to directly name Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who headed the DDCA for 13 long years until 2013.

"Why are you taking the name of Arun Jaitley again and again? He is my leader and it's his birthday today. I am only talking about corruption in the DDCA," Azad said.

"The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) report that we have asked the DDCA multiple times for the documents, but only a few were provided, in fact," he said.

Claiming to have done a personal investigation in the cricket association, Azad said: "I would like to tell the CBI that I have already done all the investigation. There are efforts to stop the move to weed out corruption in sports."

He said he "staunchly" worked for the BJP for years and "a lot of people are jealous".

Azad also took on the BJP leaders who criticised him for speaking on the issue in parliament and that too on the directions of Congress leaders.

"Accusing me of speaking on Congress president Sonia Gandhi's instructions is undermining the role of the Speaker. The Chair decides who will speak," Azad said in a tweet.

He once again claimed that there were big financial irregularities in the DDCA affairs and vowed to help the Central Bureau of Investigation. (IANS)
