New Delhi: On the Successful launch of India's fifth navigation satellite into space, Nation's President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) scientists.

In his message to ISRO the Pranab Mukherjee said "Heartiest congratulations to the ISRO team on the successful launch of navigation satellite IRNSS-1E."

"I am very happy to know that this is the fourth in the series of seven satellites of the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System. I understand the IRNSS-1D will provide navigation, tracking and mapping services which will take us closer to setting up our own navigation system," he added.

The Prime Minister also congratulated the scientists.

"Launch of satellite IRNSS-1D is yet another manifestation of the exemplary efforts and utmost brilliance of our scientists. Congrats to them," Modi said.

"Congratulating the dynamism and determination of ISRO and our scientists on the successful launch of PSLV C31 and putting IRNSS-1E in orbit precisely," he tweeted.

An Indian Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket blasted off successfully with the country's navigation satellite – Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System-1E – from the rocket port Sriharikota on Wednesday morning.

Once fully operational, the IRNSS will provide accurate position information service to users across the country and the region. (IANS)
