72 percent of Respondents agree with Demonetisation Decision by PM Narendra Modi, says a Survey

New Delhi, November 18, 2016: About 72 percent of respondents agree with the demonetization decision, says an online opinion poll carried out by SoGoSurvey to find how Indians reacted to the sudden scrapping of Rs 500 & Rs 1,000 currency notes.

The top three reasons the people who agreed with the currency ban were: demonetisation would help bring out hoarded black money; dismantle terror financing avenues; and would help tackle the problem of counterfeit notes.

The top three reasons given by those who disagree were that four hours were not enough for the entire population to arrange money for their daily needs; common man doesn't have black money but will suffer the most; and the move was diverting attention from basic issues on which the government is failing.

According to the survey, about 81 per cent of respondents from Bengaluru supported the move, while Mumbai showed positive response from 57 per cent respondents. (IANS)
