Chinese Swimmers maintained their dominance at the FINA Diving World Series

Kazan (Russia), April 2, 2017: The Chinese diving "dream team" maintained their dominance at the FINA Diving World Series as they swept all the three gold medals on offer, according to the official website of FINA, the world swimming governing body.

The Chinese divers showed supremacy in the women's 10m platform here on Saturday. Ren Qian and Si Yajie made a strong impression in the final. They decidedly took initiative in their hands to book the double win ahead of schedule, reports Xinhua news agency.

Olympic champion Ren collected 394.25 points to win the title, while Si came second in 382.25 points. Angel Peniche Del of Mexico ranked third in 349.55.

In the men's 3m springboard, China also extended the unbeaten streak. Cao Yuan showed consistency in the final and finished over eight points ahead of his compatriot Xie Siyi, 515.40, registering his first win in 2017 FINA/NVC Diving World Series.

Russia's Ilia Zakharov was third in 486.70. Olympic champion in 3m synchro springboard Jack Laugher was fourth.

In the mixed 10m platform, Chinese divers Lian Jie and Lian Junjie left no chances for their challengers. They totalled 347.76 to win the gold. Russia and Australia took the silver and bronze respectively. (IANS)
