Bhopal: Man arrested for IS link

Bhopal: A man was arrested on Monday suspected to be working for the terrorist group Islamic State in Madhya Pradesh capital by state police and NIA, officials said.

The man named Azhar, who was wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), was arrested from Tila Jamalpura area, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) Shailendra Singh Chauhan said.

Azhar, a resident of Obaidullah Ganj town in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh, was hiding in his paternal uncle's house in Bhopal, from which he was arrested by a team of NIA and Crime Branch officials.

In recent times, NIA has arrested many people with IS links from all around the country. (IANS)
